A day in the life of your role.
My responsibilities vary! I work on projects and initiatives improving our in-house workforce planning tool, revising the labour model and integration of new systems.
I am also involved in the operational and financial planning & budgeting for the year including the quartely revisions of the budget. I also review month-end performance & provide commentary to finance based on the results of the labour spend & any insight into operational activities which impacted the results. However much of my time is spent in liasing with various stakeholders across the business including stores, store leadership and operations support on how they launch and execute activities in store.
What is your favourite part of your job?
I love the analytical side of my work but also how that translates into actionable support for both stores and support office and managing the fine balance between execution and efficiency.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to do what you do?
If you love numbers and understanding how complex models work in an operational environment, and you are passionate about understanding what drives the decisions business need to make, this is a great place to work!
My advice would be to upskill yourself in analytics but also get involved with understanding how labour models work across organisations and industries and find opportunities to observe, learn and practice these skills.
What have been your career highlights at TWG so far?
My highlights have been working in a role that requires connection & collaboration across the business. We have executed some exciting changes that have made a difference in how store teams operate and deliver value for customers, team and the business.
